Louise Mitchell


Louise is a barrister at law. She is a graduate of McGill University, where she studied political science. She read law at the University of Manchester and the University of Oxford. She has worked in financial regulation for many years, heading the International Financial Services Authority of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
In 2007 she opened her own law office, LMJ Chambers Ltd. She is also a registered offshore agent and trustee, operating Caribbean Trust Company Ltd.
She is a director of two media companies, trading in SVG as Boom 106.9 and IKTV and also of her family’s hotel business in Bequia, Gingerbread Hotel.
She is a Vincentian patriot with passions in heritage and the environment. She headed the St. Vincent and the Grenadines National Trust for 6 years, and remains a Trustee on the Board of Trustees. She is a Trustee of the Diamond Trust, an organization that focuses on sustainable farming, and a Trustee of the Bequia Heritage Foundation, which preserves the Bequia maritime history. She founded the Bequia Traditional Sailing Academy and the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Sailing Association. She is the coordinator of the Swimming Federation’s grassroots swimming program and is an open water swimming enthusiast.
She is the Honorary Consul of Finland to St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
